Miriam Broudy

Miriam Levine Broudy, American (1905-1995(?)).



Miriam Levine Broudy was a highly schooled and accomplished artist. She studied at
the Philadelphia School of Art, the Art Students League and in Europe at the
Academy Colorassi in Paris. Broudy was born in Pennsylvania but spent most of her
painting career in southern Connecticut where she resided. She became an excecutive
vice-president of the venerable Silvermine Guild of Artists and she was also a member
of the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, the prestigious New Haven Paint and Clay Club,
the National Association of Women Artists and the Artists Equity Association in NYC.
Broudy exhibited extensively throughout her career including at the National Academy,
the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, Art USA, the Silvermine Guild, and the New Britain
Musuem, to name a few. She was the recipient of the Howard Penrose Award (Connecticut
Academy of Fine Arts) and the prestigious Henry Ward Ranger Award (National Academy of
Design, 1961).Broudy's paintings are included in the collections of several museums,
and private collections.
