Charles Gordon Harris, American (1891-1963). Charles Gordon Harris was a Rhode Island painter who was noted for his landscapes and coastal scenes. He studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and was a member of the Providence Art Club and Providence Watercolor Club. Harris is known for his atmospheres, particularly his voluminous clouds and shadows and their impact on the landscape. His paintings received many prizes and awards during his career and he was also recognized as valued and active supporter of the arts. "Autumn Clouds" Signed lower right.
