
James S. King, American, (1852-1925).Painter and etcher, James S. King was born in New York City in 1852 and studied at the Art Student's League, National Academy of Design, and the Ecole Des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He belonged to the Salmagundi Club and the Allied Artists of America. King was active in exhibiting at the Parrish Art Museum; Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts; Boston Art Club; National Academy of Design; Art Institute of Chicago; the Corcoran Gallery; and the Society of Independent Artists.
